Does God keep secrets?

Deuteronomy 29:28a “The secret things belong to Adonai our God.” (TLV)

Good morning,

My name is Jamie Lou. This daily devotional is intended to teach and reflect upon who God is, to share the Gospel, to encourage believers, to build you up in your most holy faith, and to offer prayers for every situation you may face in life.

In Deuteronomy 29:28a, we learn that the secret things belong to God, such as how a baby is knit together in the womb, how He spun the universe into existence, or why He created male and female. The TLV version is the Tree of Life Version where instead of LORD, we see the name that the ancient Hebrew children and Jews today call ADONAI. One of the many names of God the Father.

God has His secrets and keeps His secrets, but sometimes He shares things with me that I often tell no one, like the intimate secrets between friends or between Father and daughter. That doesn’t happen spending 15 minutes a day with Him. That kind of intimacy comes from spending lots of quality time with Him, practicing His presence all day long, and bringing Him into everything you do.

Prayer: Father God, I desire to cultivate an intimate relationship with you. Please teach me how.

Yours in the Lord Jesus Christ,

Jamie Lou

Blueprint for Daily Life

Good morning,

I never had anyone who lived Christ before me in my home growing up, so I always wanted to know what my daily Christian life should look like. I found it today in Acts 2: 42-47. So these verses show the characteristics and practices of a true Disciple of Master Yeshua Jesus:

V. 42: teaching, reading the Word of God, fellowship, communion, and prayer

V. 43: Fear of the Lord Adonai, signs and wonders

V. 44: together and in common with other believers

V. 45: giving, especially those in need

V. 46: spending time at the “Temple”, for us that would be spending time with other believers who are the “Temple of the Holy Spirit”, sharing meals, giving to the poor, homeless, and the hungry, and also hospitality, one mind, find others of like mind and spend time with them including having meals together, take Communion together

V. 47: Praise and worship, living a life that brings favor with God, other believers, and even unbelievers, daily sharing the Gospel and Evangelism

There it is. That’s what the Bible calls: “Being about the Father’s business!”

Love in Christ,

Jamie

Do you believe Jesus is returning as He promised?

King James Version John 14: 2-3 Yeshua Jesus speaking: “In my Father’s house are many dwelling places: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”

If you ever wondered about Yeshua Jesus’ second coming, wonder no longer. Although it’s been almost 2,000 years since this promise was spoken, He was crucified and resurrected about A.D. 33, so it’s been about 1,992 years; He always keeps His promises, so He will return. You can take that to the bank. It is truly a sure word of prophecy.

Are you looking for His return? Are you ready to meet Him?

As always, please send me any questions or comments and like my blog, if you wish.

Love in Mashiach Yeshua,

Jamie

Has your conscience been purged?

So you have received Jesus The Christ, The Messiah, as your Savior and God? Well, let’s begin to learn some of the things that happen to you or anyone in that great exchange.

Hebrews 9: 13-14 teaches us: “For if the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling those who have been defiled sanctify for the purging and cleansing of the flesh, how much more will the blood of Messiah–who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God–purge and cleanse our consciences, (my conscience and your conscience) from DEAD WORKS to serve the living God?”

One of the things that happened to you, to anyone is that you are washed in the holy, pure blood of Jesus the Messiah. Your sins are now washed away; you are now blood-washed. Your reborn Spirit is now sanctified and holy, set apart to do the Will of God.

So, if you find that your conscience has not yet been purged from DEAD WORKS, and you do not have any desire to serve God and Jesus; you have to question whether you are truly born again. This verse in Hebrews clearly teaches that the blood of Messiah Jesus cleanses us and purges us from the desire to DEAD WORKS and we now desire to serve the Living God.

Dead works is anything of the flesh that is not pleasing to God: self, ambition, pride, the list goes on ad infinitum. If you have no desire to seek out fellowship with other believers, find a bible-teaching church, read the Bible, or share with someone what has happened to you; you must question whether you are truly a son or daughter of God.

But fear not, just talk to God again in prayer, and ask the Holy Spirit to purge your conscience from these dead works and how to begin to serve God.

As always, if you have any questions, please comment and subscribe, and keep seeking God.

What must I do to be saved?

In Acts 16:30 the Phillippian jailer asked a very important, life-changing question: “What must I do to be saved?”

So to answer that question, let’s see what Jesus said in Mark 1:15: “Now is the fullness of time, He said, “and the kingdom of God is near! Repent and turn away from your sins, and believe the Good News (the Gospel).”

Salvation is now available to “whosoever will”. Admit that you are already a condemned sinner and under the wrath of God, turn away from your sins, forsake them, and place your life, your future, your trust, your very breath in Ben ELOHIM, the Son of the Living God named Yeshua, Jesus in English. Jesus is God equal with His Father. ELOHIM is the plural of God in Hebrew.

Speak these things in a prayer to God out loud in your own words according to Romans 10: 9-10: “For if you confess with your mouth that Yeshua is Lord and God, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart you believe unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Your words are very powerful; God gave you the power of speech for a reason. Repent and ask for your free gift of salvation out loud with your mouth.

That’s it. If you are truly born again, Romans 8: 16 tells you: “The Spirit himself bears witness with your spirit, that you are now a son or daughter of God.” So, if you have truly been born again spiritually, God’s Holy Spirit will himself bear witness to you that you are son or daughter of God.

Now find a good church, a body of fellow believers that teaches the Bible faithfully, and get a Bible or read the Bible on your phone using the Bible Gateway App. Start by reading the book of John, then Matthew, Mark, Luke, and Acts.

You can also comment and like this post and I will respond to any questions or comments you have.

Return Safely

It’s been quite a while, almost 4 years since I posted my first blog. In addition to God continually commanding me to write my blog, I know this is His perfect will for me to share the things He shows in the Bible because He continually urges me to do so.

II Chronicles 19:1 This is what happens when one loves, fears, and cries out to God: “Then King Jehoshaphat of Judah returned safely to his palace in Jerusalem (Yerushalayim for you Hebrew lovers)!” This verse got me thinking what does safe really mean, do I really know what is means? So, I looked up the dictionary definition.

Safe – Secure from threat of danger, harm, or loss!

This was revealed to me on September 6, 2023 at a time when I was under a sentence of losing my job and I was fighting to keep it.

So I made the written and spoken declaration: “I am safe! I am not going to lose my job, my income, my health insurance, or the money I’ve saved! Hallelujah!!”

Father God heard my petition and my supplication offered in faith and I in fact kept my job, my income, my health insurance and my money until I quit that job on my own terms in December 2024 because this employer was abusive. It truly was like being in an abusive relationship. It took me two months to extricated myself from them completely and my last day was officially January 31, 2025. I am so thrilled to be free of them.

What do you need to ask God for today so that you can be safe? So that you can be secure from the threat of danger, harm, or loss? So you can return safely to His Everlasting Arms?

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus your own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
